Everything Jenna Dewan Tatum eats/drinks/works out we simply must copy (coz, wellness goals). Which is why when she shared her “secret weapon” for getting her five-a-day, we were all ears.

“I do green smoothies. I drink them every morning,” she explained in a YouTube clip.

“It’s great fibre, you get your veggies right off the bat. It’s great for picky eaters. My husband [Channing Tatum] is one of them, he hates vegetables, but he’ll drink this smoothie.”

At first glance, her recipe includes all the usual suspects – spinach, lemon, pear and water. But then, she takes it to the next level with a supplement she considers non-negotiable:

Spirulina powder.

“It is alkalising, it is like superfood for your blood, your oxygen and your cells,” she explains. “It’s amazing.”

The algae-like bacteria also helps to boost energy levels, lower cholesterol and blood pressure, has anti-cancer qualities and can aid with weight loss. It’s harvested from the ocean, is rich in iron, beta-carotene and vitamin B-12, and has the highest concentration of protein of any food.

But the best part?

“When you put it in with a bunch of vegetables and fruit you don’t taste it as much – it can be a little bitter to taste – I hide super nutrients in this smoothie and no one in my family knows I’m doing it.”

It’s safe to say we’re sold.
