It sounds like you could benefit from talking to your doctor or other health care professional about this. They might be able to suggest a program in your area that could help with both issues such as a teen group at a YMCA or community center. Activity groups are good ways to make new friends and improve health at the same time! While it is frustrating that your mom doesn’t understand what you’re going through, maybe you could find a healthy cooking class to take together. Or, ask your doctor if you and your mom could meet with a registered dietitian to learn about how different foods and portions can affect your weight.
