As rumors of a Spice Girls reunion continue to swirl, Mel B is reportedly taking a break to focus on her health. According to a report by The Sun, the America’s Got Talent host will check into a rehab facility next month to seek treatment for alcohol and sex addiction. Mel B recently finished writing her emotional memoir, which she said brought up many issues that she needs to confront. She reportedly said:

While Mel B will enter rehab for sex and alcohol addiction, she said it’s the underlying issues that are the problem. “I am being very honest about drinking to numb my pain but that is just a way a lot of people mask what is really going on,” she said. “Sometimes it is too hard to cope with all the emotions I feel. But the problem has never been about sex or alcohol — it is underneath all that.”

Mel B previously claimed her ex-husband and film producer, Stephan Belafonte was physically, emotionally, and verbally abusive, however, the abuse charges were dropped when they reached a settlement for their divorce.

Mel B also said she was diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder, and she tweeted a link to a U.S. government site with information on what PTSD is.

Around the same time The Sun reported she’d enter rehab, Mel B retweeted a post from her mom, Andrea Brown, that stated, “I’m so proud of my daughter. She has the courage to face her demons head on and deal with them.”
