If you’re feeling like you’re in a bit of a funk – whether it be fitness related or just life in general – fitness star Emily Skye has a few words of wisdom you need to hear.
The 32-year-old, who is currently 21 weeks pregnant with her first child, has taken to Instagram to share her best tips for staying motivated and positive.
“I think of all the things that I’m grateful for and I focus on them,” she writes.
“Instead of looking at what other people have that I don’t have, I look at what I already have.”
“There’s a difference between seeing other people’s successes as inspiration and comparing yourself to them then allowing yourself to feel down because you don’t have what they’ve got. I truly believe comparing yourself to others & focussing on what you lack is unhealthy.”
I'm 20 weeks tomorrow! ???? . Baby is kicking and flipping a LOT now – all through the day and night! It's the best feeling ever, it makes me so happy! ? Although almost every time I get @recdedmond to feel she/he stops! ? He's felt the kicks a couple of times though and says with a huge grin "that's my little (boy/girl) in there" – It makes me fall even more inlove with him. ??? How will I be when I see him holding the baby!? . I'm in London this week doing something exciting with my friends at @Lucozadesport Who lives here? Any healthy cafes I should try? I think about food more than ever now and I'm ALWAYS hungry haha! ??? . . #MadeToMove .
As well as ditching the comparisons, she says consistency helps.
“You don’t get fit by seeing a personal trainer once a week and that’s all you do.”
“If you want to be fit & healthy then you’ve gotta keep yourself motivated & on track every single day. Set goals, plan how you’ll achieve them and commit yourself.”
“Motivation doesn’t just come to you.. you don’t just “find it” and it stays there – you have to create it every day. It’s your responsibility!”
With the 2 loves of my life – my man @recdedmond & our precious little growing baby. ????? I'm extremely blessed to have you Dec and I'm so excited to start a family with you! ? . Whenever I have a bad day or feel down about something I think about these 2 and I instantly feel better. ☺️ Family is most important to me. ? . #appreciation #love #family #17weekspregnant
And finally? Don’t sweat the small stuff.
“Take control of what you can control and try to let go of what you can’t and count your blessings!”
Take notes, people – these tips have clearly paid off for her!
