Sports and regular exercise keeps the body fit and healthy – but how the people in the corona-crisis behavior, if gyms are closed, and sports in which multiple people are involved, are prohibited?
Researchers at the University of Potsdam respondents worldwide 6300 subjects in 52 countries and come to the conclusion: people that have also operated in front of the Corona-crisis no regular sports, now move even less.
Doing a sports psychologist Prof. Dr. Ralf Brand advises not to see physical activity, especially in the crisis, as support: “to move is only good for the body, but also for the soul.”
Athletes remain in the Corona-crisis active
Whether the lack of the gym or spin class – athletes, according to the recent study of the Corona-crisis does not stop.
Anyone who has trained before the crisis, already two to three times a week, drives in the current Situation even more sports.
Sports, and the Isolation only rarely or not at all active in sports, are currently even less and spend the time mostly without movement.
In this case, the conscious Planning of movements, for example, regular walking or weight training at home can contribute to survive the Isolation better.
Better well-being through movement
The scientists also examined how sports and regular exercise have an impact on the well-being in this crisis.
“In the case of the physically Active, we measure currently a more positive well-being than those who do not or irregularly-sports” sums up Brand the results.
Thus, the connections between sports activities and the Psyche, particularly in the Isolation of new challenges show up.
Open the question of why some people are easier to be physically active, while others recognize the positive effects of movement (but can).
