Kate Hudson and Danny Fujikawa are feeling the fatigue that comes with having a new baby.

The parents to daughter Rani Rose (who turns 5 months old on Saturday) stepped out for the Women’s Cancer Research Fund’s Unforgettable Evening Benefit Gala Thursday where Hudson, 39, was being honored.

The new parents admitted to Entertainment Tonight on the red carpet that they didn’t have big plans afterwards. “I was the one that was like, ‘We might go out after this,’ and he’s like, ‘I’m already tired, babe,’ ” said the Almost Famous actress.

“We have a newborn at home,” responded the musician, 32. “That takes a lot of the energy.”

“We’re exhausted, so we probably won’t be going out,” Hudson added.

“She’s gonna pump on the way to this bar, apparently,” Fujikawa joked about Hudson’s afterparty plans, to which she added, “I just pump. That’s all I do. I pump, I come to nights like this every once in a while and then I pump again.”

The two were also joined at the event by Hudson’s mom Goldie Hawn and her longtime love Kurt Russell, plus Liam Hemsworth, Miley Cyrus, Sharon Stone, Demi Moore and Sean Penn.

Fujikawa also praised his girlfriend, who was being honored with the Courage Award at the ceremony, on the red carpet, telling ET, “What makes her the most courageous … [is that] in the face of fear, she doesn’t back down.”

“I’ve seen her do things that I can’t imagine doing myself and I’m very proud of her,” he added. “And I’m in awe of her for some of the things that she is able to do when she sets her mind to it.”

On Monday — just five days before her daughter turns 5 months old — Hudson shared a new snapshot of the adorable baby girl to her Instagram account, where she posed next to a sign reading, “Four months.”

True to Rani’s middle namesake, her white onesie and matching hat were covered in red flowers as she smiled sweetly up at the camera.

In late January, Hudson’s pal Sara Foster opened up to PEOPLE about the actress, and how her daughter is “so cute,” “so big” and “the light of their family.”

As for how the star handles parenting three kids while being a WW ambassador, running her Fabletics line, keeping to a gym routine and more? “Kate is the most hands-on mom and I don’t know how she does it all,” admitted Sara, 38. “Whoever says women can’t do it all, she does it all.”
