• Serena Williams honored Olympic track star Flo-Jo with her Australian Open outfit.
  • She wore a one-legged catsuit inspired by Flo-Jo’s iconic tracksuits from the 1980s.
  • The tennis champ said that she grew up watching the track star and loved her fashion.

Tennis champ Serena Williams just crushed her first match of the 2021 Australian Open on Sunday—and she did it all rocking a killer catsuit that paid tribute to American Olympic gold medalist track star Florence Griffith Joyner, a.k.a. Flo-Jo. At the 1988 Olympics in Seoul, Flo-Jo set records for the 100m and 200m dashes—and her records are still in place today. (Griffith retired from track in 1989.)

So it was only fitting that Serena’s Australian Open outfit honored another G.O.A.T. The 23-time Grand Slam champion wore an asymmetrical catsuit unitard designed by Nike, with red, bright pink, and black color-blocking.The catsuit featured one full-length and one bike short-length leg. Not only was the suit definitely a vibe, but Serena also won her match against Laura Siegemund 6-1/6-1.
