In the last two years, fitness blogger Arielle Mandelson has overhauled her physical and mental health and fitness, an impressive feat that she’s shared with over 155k Instagram followers.

In a recent post, the LA based behavioural health consultant reminded her fans of one of her biggest learnings along the way.

Arielle shared a series of before and after images in which she has gotten progressively leaner since starting her journey in 2016. In every single snap she’s 56 kilograms.

Yep, her weight hasn’t budged one bit.

“For anyone fretting over “holiday weight” this is your reminder to screw the f’ing scale!” she wrote.

“That number means nothing. What’s important is how you FEEL, if you’re being kind to your body (and mind), if you’re nourishing yourself with proper nutrients and letting your body sweat.”

for anyone fretting over “holiday weight” this is your reminder to screw the f’ing scale! ?? that number means nothing ??‍♀️ what’s important is how you FEEL, if you’re being kind to your body (and mind), if you’re nourishing yourself with proper nutrients and letting your body sweat ❤️ can you check any of those boxes? GREAT! The rest will follow ? here’s where I have to plug: for specifics on what I’ve done, scroll back in time or visit my blog when it launches very soon! “Scales can’t differentiate between muscle, fat, bones, tissue and water,” Arielle told People. “There are more accurate ways to measure body composition and that is ultimately what is important. I get messages everyday from women all over the world of all ages asking how to lose weight. It makes me sad to know how much value people give that number, and how much it can control somebody. I know because I’ve been there.”

She swears by the Kayla Itsines’ BBG Stronger on the SWEAT app and counts her macros during the week but on the weekend she’s flexible.

“It took me 2 years to get where I am today and I wouldn’t have it any other way!” she’s previously written.

#transformationtuesday ? I realize that these photos aren't totally comparable, in that my clothes and pose are different ??‍♀️ but when I look at this the only thing I can see is someone who was feeling frustrated, lost and insecure on the left, and someone who is strong, confident and self assured on the right ?? back then I thought I had to do everything perfectly (read restrictive diet and excessive exercise) to see results; now I know it's about balance and doing what makes me FEEL good ?? when I treat my body well with proper nourishment and activity, the physical results follow ?? for the past 18 months that has been some intuitive eating and some counting #macros, and #BBG ? this week I've started #S2BM to challenge myself in new ways and so far I'm loving it ??‍♀️ so I'm kind of rambling aimlessly here but I guess my point is this: this isn't a sprint to the finish, it's a lifelong marathon…our bodies will change regardless so treat yourself well, do what makes you feel your absolute best, switch it up if you're feeling stuck, and no matter what cut yourself some slack! We're all learning as we go! xoxo ❤️

“To really grow, in any area of our lives, we have to put in the work – and it’s so gratifying to EARN something, right?! I learned there is no quick (sustainable) fix, I’ve explored what works for my body, realised that mental growth is the most rewarding, and figured out how to push through complacency or stagnation. I’ve discovered self love and gained confidence.”

Wise words.
