She's here!
Patrick Mahomes and fiancée Brittany Matthews welcomed their first child, daughter Sterling Skye on Saturday, they announced on Instagram. The new parents shared a photo of the newborn's hand holding onto her mother's finger.
"Sterling Skye Mahomes 👸🏼 2/20/21 6lbs 11oz," Matthews shared on Instagram.

The Sweetest Photos of Brittany Matthews' Baby Bump
The couple found out the sex of their baby on the way in October, both embracing and sharing in excitement about expecting a daughter. Prior to that, when asked on The Drive in September whether he was hoping for a son or daughter, Mahomes said, "I'm just super excited to hopefully have a healthy baby and someone I'll be able to love for the rest of my life."
As for what 2020 taught him on a personal level, Mahomes responded, "I think it's just about growing up, about having the responsibility and evolving as a family."
"I think we've done that — me and Brittany, and the people around me — and I'm just excited for the future ahead of being able to keep building and keep becoming a better person for my family and this world," he added.
Pregnant Brittany Matthews Responds to Critics Who Shamed Her for Working Out While Expecting
The Kansas City Chiefs player said in a December interview with KCSP 610 Sports Radio that the best thing that happened to him this past year was a "tie" between his engagement and the subsequent news that they were expecting.
"Those things are special, that you don't get to happen a lot in your life," he said at the time. "Being able to be a dad and being able to get married here soon, I'm truly thankful for that."
"I mean, [winning] the Super Bowl was awesome as well," Mahomes added, "but those things change your life, and it's bigger than football."
Mahomes also said his primary objective for 2021 is all about being the "best father I could possibly be" to his baby girl: "This will be a new thing for me, first-time dad. Being able to experience that and go through that, I want to do whatever I can to make our little girl's life as best as it can possibly be."
