It’s a boy!
Tyler Hubbard and his Florida Georgia Line bandmate Brian Kelley dropped by The Ellen DeGeneres Show on Thursday, where Hubbard learned the sex of his second child on the way through a surprise reveal.
After the dad-to-be told DeGeneres that he and wife Hayley were finding out on Friday whether they were expecting a little brother or sister for their daughter Olivia Rose, 13 months, the host pulled out an envelope with the results and let him know he would be finding out right then!
DeGeneres then brought out a group of people, including Hayley — and before the big reveal, both she and Hubbard admitted they thought the baby was a boy. However, the mom-to-be joked, “Because I think it’s a boy, it’s probably a girl.”
Kelley and DeGeneres then pushed a big red button, which set off a pair of cannons that sprayed blue confetti onstage. The couple shared a big hug after the reveal, with Hubbard saying excitedly, “This is so unexpected!”

Family Affair! FGL’s Tyler Hubbard Brings Wife Hayley and Daughter Olivia to the 2018 CMA Awards
The couple first revealed the happy news of their baby on the way at Clive Davis and the Recording Academy’s annual pre-Grammy gala earlier this month, with Hubbard sweetly kissing Hayley’s bump on the red carpet.
“The Hubbard family is growing,” he captioned a photo of the sweet moment on his Instagram account. “We are excited to share that little nugget #2 is on the way. We are so thankful and can’t wait to see Olivia be a big sister. What do y’all think … boy or girl?”
During a Q&A break on the stage at FGL’s iHeartCountry Album Release party in New York City last week, when asked about his “steamy” music video for “Talk You Out of It,” Hubbard joked it was the reason his second baby was conceived.
“You know what happened after that video … ” the country singer, 32, said with a laugh. “Well, we have another baby on the way.”
While it’s unlikely their sex reveal is wrong this time, the spouses got a big surprise ahead of Olivia’s birth when they learned she was a girl after initially thinking they had a son on the way due to a clinical error.
Hubbard and Hayley revealed the sex of their first child on the way as a boy during a Dirt Bikes or Diamonds party in June 2017, sharing photos from the event with PEOPLE at the time. However, the spouses revealed on Instagram in August of that year that their bundle of joy was actually a girl.
“Gods got jokes … After thinking we are having a boy for the last few months, turns out the blood test was wrong and we’re actually having a little girl,” Hubbard captioned a sweet photo of himself cradling his wife’s baby bump while their golden retriever Harley sat at the couple’s feet.
“[Whoa] … so many emotions but really really excited about this next chapter even if God does like throwing us a curve ball every now and then,” he added. “Just keeping us on our toes. #daddysgirl“
